Safety
Iran is an extremely safe travel destination.
Visa for Iran
Getting an Iranian visa is getting easier and easier. They even introduced electronic visa and visa on arrival. Although they have the VOA, it’s better to apply for a visa in advance. Read my Iranian visa guide where I write about all the facts of getting an Iranian visa and my experience.

A very high number of websites in Iran are blocked. Some of these banned websites in Iran are Facebook, YouTube, Netflix, Twitter and Tinder. To get access to them, you need to use a Virtual Private Network (VPN).

Best Time to Go
Summers are too warm and winters are too cold. Autumn and spring are definitely the best time to visit Iran. Based on my personal experience, October, March, and April are the best months for traveling to Iran.

Dress Code in Iran
The dress code in Iran is stipulated by Iranian law. Women have to cover their hair, arms, and legs. Also, women need to wear long shirts that cover their butt. If you check out my blogs you will see what I was wearing that all complied with Iranian law. I find Iranian fashion adorable. As for men, they are just not allowed to wear short pants and that’s it.
How Much Does it Cost
Traveling in Iran is really cheap. A backpacker’s budget should be around 400 € for three weeks. If you want to stay in fancy hotels and join tours, you have to add that on the top of the 400 €.
Make sure you bring all the money you need in cash because in Iran international credit cards are not accepted.
Solo Female Travel
As a female traveler who traveled to Iran already twice, I can tell you that it’s perfectly safe and comfortable to travel solo as a woman in Iran.
Independent Travel
Traveling around Iran independently is easy for the most part. Of course, there are many remote areas in Iran that I only recommend for the really adventurous traveler.
