TBEX Asia 2026 in Almaty will be my first-ever TBEX conference. As a full-time travel blogger, I had known about TBEX for years, but somehow I had never attended one before.
When I saw that TBEX Asia 2026 would take place in Almaty, Kazakhstan, I decided it was finally time to see for myself what the conference was actually like.
I had already traveled to Kazakhstan before and really loved the country, so I was excited to go back, learn more about Kazakh culture, explore more of the country, and show others the beauty and culture of Kazakhstan through my travels.
Another important reason for attending TBEX was to mingle with other travel content creators. I wanted to meet people who do the same kind of work, talk about travel blogging, make new connections and, hopefully, some new friends.
In this TBEX Asia 2026 review, I’ll share my complete experience at TBEX in Almaty, including the Pre-BEX tours, conference sessions, networking, social events, and whether I think TBEX is worth attending as a travel blogger.
TBEX stands for Travel Blog Exchange and is an international conference for travel content creators and the travel industry.
The events bring together travel bloggers, content creators, destination marketing organizations, tourism boards, PR representatives, travel companies, and other people working in the travel industry.
TBEX has been organizing travel creator conferences since 2009, with events taking place in destinations around the world.
The conference combines educational sessions with networking, social events, meetings with tourism industry representatives, and organized trips before and after the main conference.
TBEX Asia 2026 takes place from August 20–23, 2026 in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
The main venue was The Ritz-Carlton in Almaty, inside the Esentai Tower complex at 77/7 Al-Farabi Avenue.
The TBEX Asia 2026 program is divided into three parts:
- August 20–21: Pre-BEX tours and activities in and around Almaty
- August 22–23: Main TBEX conference in Almaty
- From August 24: Post-conference FAM trips around Kazakhstan
I first found out about TBEX Asia 2026 almost a year before the event through one of Will Hatton’s Instagram Stories. I decided pretty much right away that I wanted to go, so I signed up and bought an early-bird ticket for $177, which was a very good deal.
Closer to the event, registration opened for the Pre-BEX tours. I was following the TBEX Asia 2026 Facebook group, and that’s where they announced when registration was open. This way, I could sign up right away. Each TBEX attendee could join two Pre-BEX tours, one on August 20 and another on August 21, and I booked one for each day.
Applications for the post-conference FAM trips opened later. To join one of these trips, you had to submit an application and be selected.
The Pre-BEX tours take place on August 20 and 21 and were available to registered TBEX attendees.

I signed up for two of the Pre-BEX tours: Eco-Relax: Ayusai and Alma-Arasan and Immersion in Nomadic Culture: Huns Ethno-Village. I will write separate blog posts about both experiences.
